Chromosomes are copied and distributed in a fuction known as cell division, for this case cell division is known as MITOSIS. Mitosis is five steps

The first step is known as Prophase. In prophase the nuclear membrane dissolves. The second step is Metaphase this were the chromosome pairs line up in the center. Anaphase is the third step. During anaphase the chromosome pairs separate and start to move to the poles. The chromosomes are pulled ny the spindle fibres. The forth step is Telephase. In telephase the chromosomes have reached the poles. The nuclear membrane forms around the chromosomes. During the second part of telephase known as CYTOKINESIS, the cytoplasm and organelle divide and move to the poles. The cell membrane pinches to form 2 daughter cells. The last step is known as Interphase. The chromosomes replicate, and grow and prepare fore for Prophase.

That is how a cell is copied and distributed throught mitosis
